Don't need Tabby anymore!?!

Well since we did not have Tabby yesterday we have opted to use someone else Alice!!!

This is because we are able to fit with her schedule more easily.

Alice is up for the position so we have accepted her with open arms.

Today we have talked about more shots with Mr Turner, which means that the trailer will be about 100000 minutes long...
which isnt the best...

so lots of trimming and editing.


The voice over, this was also discussed which will be formed and placed over the sequences we have so far.
Once the script is perfected it can be done easily.

A blend shot is also being discussed.... which... i gotta learn how to do.. haha.......
Although i have been told that in Final Cut express it can be done.... so....

YEAH!

Filming!

Well we did some filming today!
it was pretty damn gnarly! and yes, i did just say Gnarly. I hope its spelt right or this will be totally bad.

Anyway!!

We actually got extras today! which was amazing! Thanks to Jo!!!!! yay!!

we got 5 people, including me, 6! yay!
Tabby (our main actress) was busy today.... acting with some other people (ooo backstabbed) so we will have to shoot her scenes soon ~~ and just add them in...... yay.

I forgot my camera today... aswell as my lunch.... omg!

so i had to use my phone to take some pictures! (only 1 because i was acting yay)



This was the setting up of the panning shot. Jo and Matt did and awesome job, even if the shot turns out rubbish, i absolutely love this shot. It reminds me of the matrix... without the ninja slow-mo actions. Such a good shot to portray the whole class, which is what we wanted to do. Kudos to you guys!

SO yeah! we had an awesome time filming, tabby didnt show, but it was still good.

We just need to film tabby, and Ms Gregory, then we will be done with the class room scene.

Pendulum.

New name?!?!?!?!??!

OH YES!

So since a scene has the word Pendulum in it we have slightly decided to change the name.

But this is only a possibility would this be a possible change.

Well today we put together our first couple os scenes which was pretty fun, me and jo went through all the shots and picked the "best looking ones" and made a short cut for our trailer!

This gave us some ideas on how to change them for the better... yay.....

so more filming!

I will write up some of the things we came up with soon!
(Most likely monday) because i dont have the notes no me right now.

Some technical infomation.

Since i have uploaded the video to youtube then taken the code and placed it here, to embed it......
make the video host on this website....

It will not show up if you have a "block" system, this was brought to my attention in school as we do. Since the "block" system blocks youtube it will block the embeded videos.
So if you do have a blocked system then you will not be able to watch the videos which i have posted.

I thought i should mention this if you are tryign to watch the videos and they are not coming up on your screen.

Totally awesome.

LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION!

Yeah it went pretty well.....although people didnt really want to play a part in our film. We needed some extras which, was great when asking people, but when it came to actually helping they changed their minds.

Which is utterly silly.

So we could not shoot the scenes which we wanted today.....

but we were able to shoot Ms Gregory's scene which was good!
appart from some framing issues we were able to shoot well!

Tomorrow will dawn some new challenges.... yay.

Since the media showcase was announced.... today...

and i am using far to many "Enter Key's" ....

We have chosen to start filming tomorrow 24th of September! (if this gets read at a later date)
The scenes which will be filmed are..... The teacher scenes!!
This is because we have both teachers on the 24th which means its prime time for filming!! :D

Walk This Way

Today we did some location scouting getting photos of the class room we plan to use

Its psychology class for intentional irony :P

We also added a new shot in of our main character (matt) walking through a busy crowd

We wish to end up editing the shot so that it looks like crowd is walking by very quickly but matt walking slowly

On a slightly different note, Jo was not in school today so Me and Matt had to do some work, OMG REALLY?, I KNOW!, we did the storyboard, and I messed around with the editing. Well it wasn't really messing around, they are taking away our Mac's.... so i had to move the files to the media server.... and i cut the test shots to make 2 pieces (what you see up above you)

We have around 5(ish) more shots to add to the ending, i did not want to finish the story board without Jo as she has some in put aswel!

Drama Studio film testing!

Today we had some more test shots in the drama studio, this means lots more picture documentary.

I will start up with the equipment.


This is the soft lighting kit!

Very good to use, we used the diffuser to redirect the light it produced to create good lighting...



The diffuser, not a giant frisbee..... awesome combo with the soft lighting kit.



first use of the soft lighting kit. It was really bright, i was quite shocked, i thought we would not be able to use them to a good standard. In the end i think we did! :D



Matt messing around with the lights.... which wasnt all games as we got a good idea from this.

Which was...

This silhouette effect(granted the light on the right could be turned off) was an excellent picture and gave us great ideas for the poster which we will be creating.

This lead to more shots being taken with the Light Vs Dark effect



these are the main pictures of the soft lighting kit, which we used as best we could.
combing the lights with the diffuser let us be able to manipulate the light so we could get just the right about the on the character.

The camera, this was used for the test shots, obviously.

Im not sure what Matt and Jo are talking about, but it seems interesting.


In taking the role as director i was helping Matt with the position of the "Picture" which was actually an envelope. Jo found this funny, for an unknown reason. Immaturity on the scene i guess.....

This was the set for the shot for the opening scenes, instead of an envelope it will be a picture and will all be professally done.

We finished the test shots today! this is an excellent progression. 

After letterboxing them (LOL) we are ready to edit them.

The drama studio was awesome. 

We used the soft lighting kit to create the best effect possible, this was through the use of the diffuser which was and still is an excellent piece of equipment.

Watching trailers for some inspirations. this was an excellent task, very fun.

we picked these films because of the editing and story behind the characters.

We picked "Fight club" for the split personality, or creation of an imaginary friend/alter-ego, which we planned to base the character 'Gabriel' on Brad Pitt's role of Tyler Durden.

Orphan the film reminded Matt of our trailer,  because of the the 'creepy' plot twist, the trailer was useful to show us the flash/jump cuts at the end and the silent jump scenes,

Texas Chainsaw Massacre was a pure horror trailer which we watched, this was to find the effect of the music, and how it will effect our film, we picked the sound of the "Heart beat" as a major influence into music.

The Fourth Kind, this is an extremely creepy trailer. Jo specifically liked '00:54' of this trailer, when an extreme close up was on an actor talking (Jaw shot, i have deicided to call it), she thought that we could implement this into our trailer and use it for the doctor when he is revealing what is wrong with the girl. 

Matt specifically liked the shot between the archive footage and the film itself, the splice of the shots was intriguing and showed us how we can manipulate ours to recreate this.

Today!

In todays lesson I(Joel) messed aroudn with the music which we could potentially put into our "Blackout" wipes......

this failed.


The story was being finalised....again.... and the first page was done.

This means a...few... need to be completed.

This is a long process as we need to talk abotu each shot..... way to many i think.... haha!

Shot testing!

Today we had some test shots done, not all of it. but its a start!

We missed the Drama shot, because of a class in there, Darn drama.....

Which we will be doing on Thursday, as the room is empty!

We managed to get all the test shots, apart from my(Joel) house, because its too far away, kinda.

Well its changed alot, and its been a blast.

It was originally BJJ, Ben Josh Joel.
yeah we had fun, made some films.

But change happens and Josh and Ben sadly did not come into the A2 course.
This means I(Joel) had to find new partners!

Jo was drafted in the first part of the year, and she was up for the challenge.

Matt was aquired after the break, since he was a solo group he would have needed to do alot fo work. Which is a tall order.

After some conversation with Ms Gregory they found the best way to resovle the problem of being a solo, would be to join me and Jo. If that makes sense.

So we become a Trio!!!!

This is a new team, and we new people to work with new ideas are flowing, so stay tuned for some dramatic changes. Kinda.

Scouting for girls

Jo has a clash today with another lesson so isn't in
and she has all of the work in her locker so me and joel can't get hold of it

We are plaining to do some test shots this afternoon at all of the in school locations to check for light and that they will still work in our production.

School starts soon.

And we are down a member.

But we are still continuing.


Since we have started a whole new story we had to redo the story board, actors, and plot. We ahve mostly a full plot, and a story board. Jo Currently has these so I will not to be able to post them. I will hopefully be able to soon :)
